One of the tips from Suze Orman, is to just spend dollar bills. When you pay with cash pay with dollar bills and save your change. I try to do this, except usually when its just over the dollar and I don't want a bunch of change.
I keep my change in a container and every few months I take it to the bank to cash in and get $20-$30 dollars of "found" money to use on stuff instead of sitting in the jar.
